Wow, that is very detailed.
My bestest comic buddy Poinko and I have talked about doing a large-scale collab for ages. One thing we’ve floated is bringing back one of my old comics, Galactic Hub Serreven. Naturally, we’re both busy and it has proven to be a bit of a task. I did ask him to draw the core cast and I colored the results. I think they turned out quite well.
Galactic Hub Serreven is a spinoff of Cosmic Dash following the exploits of Dorian’s brother Angn. Angn is a bit of a slacker and middle child who has not much done with his life, but all of that changes when for a mysterious reason he is hired as the administrator of a galactic hub of major importance. When he arrives he discovers that the station is incomplete, undergoing a power-struggle between important residents, and that the station’s artificial intelligence has a severe case of distaste for organics. More alarming, the last administrator was found murdered… hence Angn’s hiring.
The core casts comprises of four characters.
Angn D’Lazmuh: A rather unspectacular grey who has coasted through most of his life. There is something to him though, at least that is the implication in his being hired to run Galactic Hub Serreven. He is rather naive and prone to rash decisions during moments of stress. He has an unusual aptitude for RTS-style games and spends his free-time in matches.
DICC: DICC is the artificial intelligence of the Serreven that is separate from the hub in order to facilitate interactions between the administrator and the station. DICC has an air of superiority and has an instant dislike of Angn. DICC is convinced that he can run the station by himself and often tries to cut Angn out of administrative tasks.
Enna Satruvetsky Quilxoss: A syrien waitress who befriends Angn. She has lived in the Serreven for years and has a secret artistic passion that manifests in graffiti all over the station. She does not see eye to eye with her older-sister and actively defaces the signage for her burlesque club. Enna is sweet and treats the patrons of the diner she works at like family.
Galaxitina Satruvetsky Quilxoss: She can be considered the primary antagonist of the comic. Galaxitina runs a popular burlesque club on the station that has given her a level of fame that she used to leverage against other major players on the Serreven. However, Angn’s resistance to her charms and intimidation threatens her power she has built up amongst the major figures on the station.
The comic is a bit more comedic and less action-packed than Cosmic Dash, but features many similar elements and the two series would cross over frequently as the Serreven is a pretty important stop for many galactic travelers.
Would you be interested in reading a comic based on this concept? Please reblog/like and let us know. I am sure Poinko and I could make something work if the demand is out there.
Signal boosting. Tell us if you want to see this as a comic.
